ANTIQUE CUT GLASS DRESSER JAR, ENGLISH STERLING SILVER LID, c. 1866

This listing is for a lovely English cut glass dresser jar with Sterling Silver lid, c. 1866. No monograms.
The glass body is decorated with a daisy and button cut design. The shoulder area is panel cut and the base has a cut star design. The base has a silver rim.
The silver lid and is hallmarked for "Birmingham, Sterling" with date stamp for 1866 and with unidentified maker's stamp.
The glass is in very good Estate condition and although we found no nicks in the design there is a possibility of a few minor faint nicks from normal use. There is a small nick in the glass at the top of the panel cut shoulder, normal faint scratches on the bottom from normal wear and some internal residue that we have not tried to remove. The lid fits tightly over the silver rim of the base.
The lid is also in very good condition although there are some faint dents/dings on the rounded sides and on the center cartouche in the middle of the hand hammered/textured top.top. There is also very minor denting on the upper edge of the inside rim. Overall, this beautiful lid is in nice condition considering handling and wear from normal use.
Measures 4 1/4" high, 3 1/4" overall width with a 1 3/4" diameter base.
Combined weight of bottle with lid 8.5 ounces with Sterling Silver lid alone weighs 10 grams.
