    Description

    Etched
    Oil & Vinegar Cruet

    Sterling Silver Top
    1934
Up for Sale is a vintage (if not antique)
Oil & Vinegar Cruet with a Sterling Silver Stopper
    .
    The words
"Oil" and "Vinegar" in a gothic script are etched on one side, along with fill lines for each.
The pour spout is double-sided, with a ground glass Sterling Silver topped stopper (marked Sterling on the side).
    Maker is unknown.
The bottle is tapered with the bottom corners squared off (2¾” x 2½”).
    It is about 7” tall.
There are no hallmarks, except for “Sterling” engraved on the stopper.
I found this Cruet among my mother’s miscellaneous silver items.
I feel certain this was a wedding gift for my parents in 1934.
This is not something they would have bought for themselves during the Depression years - and as time went on my mother got interested in things other than fancy silver accessories.
The cruet is in excellent estate condition (it shows no sign of ever having been used).
Shipping is USPS (or Fed Ex).  PayPal, please.
