Snail Inkwell, circa 1860. It is Porcelain with beautiful decoration. One of the most unusual is the porcelain " Snail". A revolving tilting inkwell. It looks
like a snail on a Sterling Silver saucer. The snail revolves so the head tilts up

The era of the inkwell that interests most collectors began in the 18th century.
