C.1880 Macintyre Miniature Porcelain Birds Egg Scent Perfume Bottle, Silver Chic

Description

A rare miniature porcelain scent bottle, formed and hand decorated as a realistic speckled bird's egg. The bottle has a cork lined silver chick's head screw top and silver screw collar. Condition: repaired ,three place chipped ; nothing further found; good screw closure. Circa 1880, base of the bottle with painted registry number "20772" assigned to James Macintyre, Washington China Works, Burslem, silver not hallmarked but pure. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 6.5cm with cap,3.5 max dia  wt 27 grams
