FINE ART NOUVEAU ELLIS BIRKS STERLING SILVER CUT GLASS WINE EWER CLARET PITCHER

Description

This is a very fine quality c1900 Antique P.W. Ellis & Co.
(later became part of Birks) Sterling Silver and finely Cut Glass Wine Ewer or Claret Pitcher Jug.
The Pitcher is very, very thick colorless glass with wonderful Art Nouveau cut designs of Acorns and Leaves, done in a satin finish.
The Stopper is Sterling Silver and glass as seen, fully marked for Ellis and 925 Sterling Silver.
This form of Pitcher is very desirable and this is an excellent example. Great for anything from Wine to Whiskey and looks great filled with a Rosé as seen in our last picture.
Condition
: very good with one tiny nick to the base but no cracks or repairs. The interior shows some minor residue and the Stopper has some dint marks but really very nice overall for being 100+ years old.
Size
: stands approx 7-3/4 inches tall with the stopper or 6 inches tall at the top of the handle and 6 inches wide overall. Holds approx 700ml or 24 Fluid Ounces comfortably.
