Turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau glass jug with engraved silver overlay. Made by Gorham in Providence. Waisted cylinder with scalloped mouth and small lip spout. Overlay in form of loose and entwined leafing scrollwork, and asymmetrical cartouche (vacant). C-scroll handle in silver collar engraved "Presented / by the / Interstate / Association / to / Mr [fill in the blank] / Winner of the / Second / Annual / Consolation / Handicap / at Targets / Interstate / Park / Queens, / L.I. / July / 1901". Glass is green. Cut-to-clear star on underside. Silver marks include maker's stamp and no. D5217S.
