The Lid, Collar and Handle are Crafted in Fully Hallmarked English Sterling Silver
The Crystal Decanter Measures 10.5 InchesTall and Has a Clean Ground Pontil
The Full Hallmarks are Stamped on the Collar and the Correct Partial Hallmarks appear on the Underside of the Lid – The Hallmarks are “J.G & S” for John Grinsell and Sons, the Lion Passant Guarantee Mark for English Sterling Silver, the Date Letter “c” for 1898 and the Leopard’s Head Town Mark for London
Under the lid it is aso stamped for Leuchars & Sons Geffroy Succs - A luxury retailer in Paris.
The Claret is in excellent condition with no chips or damage. The bottom of the base - with a lovely starburst design -  has some minor scratches consistent with its age and usage, some other small scratches on the crystal
This is a very simple yet Elegant Claret Jug / Decanter and a Fine Addition to any Collection
