    Description

Set of nice and elegant carafe and 5 little glasses (+ 1 as present, in a same design, but cut, see photo 12), which are usually used for liqueurs, but can be also used for other drinks. Crystal on both carafe and glasses is decorated with engraved floral pattern. Carafe's top and glasses' bottom are made of 950 standard silver (glasses' bottom is gilded inside, see photos).
Silver parts are decoated with typical French
motif: a crossed quiver with arrows and a torch, tied with ribbons and entwined with a laurel wreath. This motif was chosen as a symbol by
French King Louis XVI. The flaming torch means life, truth and the regenerating power of fire, and the quiver of arrows signifies the ability to use force in pursuit of justice. These symbols are associated both with the goddess of hunting Artemis and with the god of love Amur.
    Hallmarks: Minerve 1 (1838-1973, 950 standard), CT
    (
    Charles Tirbour, 1897-1951
    ).
The condition of all items is excellent (except for present glass, see above), with slight traces of usage.
    Total weight ca. 990 g/ 35 oz.
