    Description

    Souvenir plate (just over 7” in diameter) of Winnikenni Castle in Haverhill, Massachusetts, circa 1890s to 1900s. The plate has a backmark that reads Carnation, McNicol. The view on the plate, entitled Winnikenni Castle, shows a large mansion built in the style of medieval English castle. This house was built by the Haverhill architect C. Willis Damon as a summer home for the chemist William R. Nichols between 1873 and 1875. It was purchased by the city of Haverhill in 1895. The plate is in good or better condition with light wear and soiling but no cracks, chips or significant flaws. A nice Haverhill MA souvenir!
