Vintage Sterling Silver Overlay Cologne Bottle

Description

This vintage sterling silver overlay bottle dates from the late 19th century & was produced by the Mauser Silversmiths of New York. The green glass cologne bottle is heavily draped with sweeping scrolls of sterling silver surrounding the entire body of this antique bottle. Each decorative sterling silver scroll is accented with a delicate & detailed hand tooled etched pattern. A round silver stopper, embellished with a raised floral medallion, sits comfortably atop the bottle. There is a slight clouds ring at the bottom & the stopper has a few inconsequential nicks. The stopper is stamped "STERLING 925/1000 FINE" &, also, the Mauser hallmark of a unicorn with an "M".
